BOARD OF FINANCE VACANCY

The Pomfret Board of Finance is seeking to fill a vacancy. The person will serve until the next municipal election in 2019. At that time the position would go on the ballot as “To fill a vacancy for two years.”

The Board of Finance oversees the financial operation of the town of Pomfret. It recommends the budget to the town meeting, sets the mill rate for property taxation, approves all appropriations, arranges for the annual audit, and publishes the annual town report. In order to maintain the financial stability of the town, the Board must balance the diverse needs of the community with the resources to fund them.

The Board meets monthly on the second Monday at Pomfret Community School. Members serve a six-year term.
